Deviation Actions
So I guess the first notice to new watchers is that I am a fan of terrible puns and jokes that are at least five years past being funny.
The last journal I penned on this site was also to deliver a broad thanks to a boatload of new watchers after a DD. While I do not consider Deviantart my main platform for sharing my work, I did grow up on this site (simultaneously publishing a lot of bad art and ignorant comments), and I never thought I'd get a Daily Deviation. Much less four. Holeh fishpaste. Thank you. Because there were 58+ of you, I had to once again abandon my classy habit of thanking new watchers personally, but you are appreciated.
So.
As I've said, Deviantart is not my main hub. Don't misunderstand me: I check my messages and look at art here every day, but deviantart is not the only place where I draw and write. Therefore, this seemed a good time to shamelessly advertise my other online portals. Because so many of you recently decided you wanted to see more of my work, and there's a chance that some of you are interested enough to give the following links a looksie.
The glorious main website
Raconteur Raven: Essentially a sketch blog. Weekly sketches and scans of my graphite originals end up posted here. Weekly updates, and I do not re-blog much.
Facebook Page: Finished pieces and "big" updates. Essentially exactly what you'd get watching me here, but on facebook.
Twitter: I confess to possibly being the worst tweeter in the world so far as regularity is concerned, but I catch up with artist friends here all the time, so come say hello.
In general, I post a big new piece once a month. The combination of working on a bigger-than-average piece (which I will post by mid-August or die trying), and having taken a seasonal job as a drawing instructor did set me back the last couple of months, but I can promise fairly consistent monthly updates. "Little" updates (e.g. sketches, doodles, line drawings) are posted to the blog only.
I primarily use Deviantart to talk. So always, always let me know what you think if you've the time to say something.

A Sudden Goodbye
I'm not financially stable enough to own a horse. But I ride two. One of them is an Andalusian named Rowan who has suffered from EPM for quite a while. It wasn't caught early, and he's had lasting problems for several years. I'm not an expert on his condition, but the gist is that's an attack on the central nervous system that causes all kinds of lovely problems, most notably in Rowan's case, a loss of coordination and extremely unpredictable lameness/stiffness. He had to be worked so that his muscles wouldn't "lock up" and that's where I came in to things.
Recently, he spooked and fell backward so severely that he essentially landed o
New Watchers
So in the past week, 61 people decided to watch my art.
Dear God. No pressure or anything.
But seriously, my sincere thanks. I made what I consider to be a valiant stab at thanking everyone for the watch, as I am usually in the habit of doing, but I did have to concede defeat.
But THANK YOU.
So.
It's been a little more than a year since I wrote a journal on this site. Primarily because I don't rely on deviantart as my main base of operations, so far as sharing my art is concerned. Don't misunderstand me, I check my messages and look at art here every day, but deviantart is not the
Confession, I've Never Seen NES
Title is meant in good fun. I've been getting "That's Falkor!" all day.
...I had to google who that was. *cringes* Yeah sorry, for some reason I never got around to seeing those movies as a child. Just as well, I would have lost it when the horse dies???
But seriously.
THANKS GUYS!
And I have a second confession.
Deviantart is sort of low on my list of priorities, as far as updating is concerned. Mind you, I'm still on here every day because Ohana means family, but I have been known to lose track of what I've uploaded to DA. Eventually, every new piece gets up here. I'm just new to this whole "online presence" thing.
Graduating
This Monday.
I cannot even process this.
Getting my Bachelor's, summa cum laude style. My final GPA came to 3.91.
:boogie:
Aaaaaaaaand now I have to find a job.
